Yep, the almonds tree is fruiting again and birds are back!

It's quite fun having the almond tree in the back yard. Every year the parrots and cockies come and feast on the green almonds - in fact I can't remember there ever being any left on the tree to ripen so we can have some! If you stand under the tree while they're eating you get showered with half eaten almonds and branches dropping all around you... and it sounds amazing - like someone crunching into crisp green Granny Smith Apples! They really rip into them!

One night this week we had black cockatoos, 28's, galahs and white corellas all in the same hour! It's the first time I can remember the black cockies coming in but I expect now that they've found it, the white corellas will come 'en masse' and strip the tree bare in a matter of hours - at least that's the usual pattern.
