Life can be a bitch...

My kids (like all kids I'm sure!) used to say to me when were younger "That's not fair!" and my typical, if somewhat unsympathetic, response was usually something like "That's right LIFE'S not fair... get used to it!".

It is now just 2 months since my partner's brother Matthias passed away... from cancer. I have been avoiding saying anything but it really isn't "fair" - a fit, non smoking, non drinking young guy who would have been just 40 on the day of his funeral. I was lucky enough to have met him & the rest of Anke's family when we visited Germany earlier this year & despite the language barrier we got on really well. As you would expect the family is devastated...
