44.2 degrees... now THAT is HOT!!

A record Christmas: hottest Christmas period ever with 42.1 on Christmas Day followed by the hottest Boxing Day ever... actually the hottest December day on record at 44.2 degrees... which is about 112 Farenheit!! Mein Gott... now that's HOT! Hottest I can remember.
Despite that, Christmas Day was great actually & everyone mucked in & Anke took some of her now famous Sauerkraut which went over well as usual so it was a good day. I also took my Elvis glasses (with the fake side-burns) for a bit of fun & by the end of the day everyone had their photo taken in various Elvis poses!
Then yesterday we went for brunch with my son in Freo before heading off to my mate JP's place in Freo (Aussie jargon for Fremantle) for a late arvo swin & BBQ. JP & Margie are a great couple & it was the perfect way to finish off the 2 day break... especially considering weather. When we got there at 5:00pm it was still 40 degrees! So, as you can see, we spent it downing a few ice cold beers... while floating in the pool! Poifick!
I was just glad it wasn't in the 40's in the lead up to Christmas coz that kinda heat always just kills business! Fortunately though, as it was, we had great Christmas trading so now we'll see how it goes now after Christmas during all the Sales. Saturday, when Anke's parents arrive, it's supposed to be a comparatively "mild" 35 degrees which is much better. Can't wait!
